Your own website, for the impatient

This short tutorial shows you how to create your first page, and have it displayed on the frontpage of your own site. The assumption is that you've allready created your own website, and that you are logged in.

  1. Click on the 'Create content' link in the menu on the left.
  2. From the content options presented in the main screen, press 'Page'. You're presented a 'Submit Page' form with the following fields:
    • Title: The title of your page. This title appears on top of your content, as well as in the browser title bar. The title should be representative for your content since search-engines place emphasis on it.
    • Body: The actual content of your page. The content of your page can be created with a editor resembling text-processor. The working of the editor is further explained in another tutorial. For now, just put in some text you want to appear on the frontpage.
    • Placement of content: This will control where your content will be put on the site. It is further explained in another tutorial. Leave it on default: 'Frontpage'.
  3. Press 'Submit'.

You're done! The page with the title you've supplied is now showing on your site. Logout to see the site as it is shown to visitors of your site, or press the logo in the top left corner.
